Indosuez Wealth Management: Committed to Sustainable Access to Clean Water
Water is an essential resource for life and the prosperity of societies. However, according to UNESCO and the United Nations, 2.2 billion people worldwide live without access to clean drinking water. Among them, 115 million individuals rely on surface water, which is often unsafe.
On March 22, World Water Day 2025, themed "Preserving Glaciers," highlights the crucial role of these natural reservoirs. Their rapid melting, a direct consequence of climate change, alters freshwater flows and weakens access to this vital resource for millions of people.
For over 12 years, Indosuez Wealth Management and its Foundation have financed several projects to provide clean water to those in need. In collaboration with dedicated partners, several significant initiatives have been realized:
• In Madagascar: Installation of wells and a pipeline in partnership with the NGO MEDAIR, facilitating access to clean water for local communities. • In Cambodia and Myanmar: Construction of water purification stations and distribution of clean water in schools with 1001fontaines, improving children's health and hygiene. • In Burkina Faso: Rehabilitation of eight boreholes in collaboration with the Cuomo Foundation, ensuring a reliable source of clean water for vulnerable families. • In the Philippines and Ukraine: Deployment of water filters in a children's home in Manila and a pediatric hospital in Kharkiv, respectively by Route sans frontières and MEDAIR, providing clean water to the most fragile populations.
Indosuez Wealth Management supports these initiatives aimed at improving access to clean water in various regions worldwide. These commitments align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #6, which promotes the implementation of sustainable solutions to ensure broader access to water and sanitation services by 2030.
Preserving water is a collective challenge that requires concrete and sustainable actions.
